Once this infrastructure is established, applications, including voice, can ride on this network. How does the rise of WiFi impact 3G deployments? Will connectivity be seamless between systems - and what needs to happen before it is?
Steve Blumenthal, CTO & SVP, Engineering, BridgePort Networks Steve Blumenthal, CTO and SVP of Engineering, is responsible for BridgePort Networks’ technology roadmap. Mr. Blumenthal’s background includes stints at Genuity where his group designed and built one of the first voice over IP networks; and BBN, where his group built and ran many government global networks such as the DARPA Wideband Network, the nationwide IP backbone for BBN's commercial Internet services, and a large part of AOL's dialup network. Mr. Blumenthal was formerly chairman of one of the White House Office of Cyberspace Security's Internet Working Groups and represented Genuity to the FCC's NRIC. He holds BS and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
Andy Huckridge, Senior Product Marketing, Spirent Communications Andy Huckridge is Senior Product Marketing Manager for the Abacus Product Line at Spirent Communications, where he leads Spirent's strategy for the VoIP market. His responsibilities include business planning, market development, and product management. Andy has worked in the communications industry for 10 years including roles at Centile, Inc., and 8x8, Inc., where he was Director of Product Marketing, and has a broad background in defining and marketing products in the Semiconductor and IP Telephony space. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Surrey, England. Andy is active in the SIP Forum and Multi-Switching Forum, where he is Vice-Chairman of the Interoperability Working Group.
Alain Mouttham, CEO, SIPquest Mr. Mouttham is a veteran CEO with experience spanning multi-domain software solutions for the Carrier and Enterprise markets. He was Co-founder and CEO of imGenie, a wireless Internet application vendor, which developed a dynamic personalization platform using intelligent agent technology. At Nortel Networks, he was responsible for the network and service management solutions market strategy for wireless Internet, IP Telephony and Optical networks. As Founder and CEO of NetManSys, a Silicon Valley start-up, Mr. Mouttham provided network management software solutions for Carriers. At Hewlett-Packard, he headed the R&D team of one of its most successful products, HP Openview. Mr. Mouttham has a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University and MBA executive development from INSEAD. Stu Milberg, Vice President, Business Development, LibréTel Stu Milberg is Vice President of Business Development at LibréTel, focusing on strategic relationships, partnerships, and sales opportunities for LibréTels suite of communications services and software products. Mr. Milberg has spent the past 15 years deploying and marketing IP-based disruptive technology designed to displace traditional markets and enhance end-user experience. Prior to LibréTel, Mr. Milberg held similar positions at Vonage, pulver.com, e-Speed, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Spreadsheet Solution Corporation.
Jeff Paine, Vice President, Strategic Marketing, UTStarcom Jeff Paine is currently vice president of strategic marketing for UTStarcom. Previously, he spent six years as an executive in the VoIP/softswitching market. Most recently he was VP of marketing at Syndeo. He was one of the first 100 employees at Cisco where he was responsible for the creation of many of the company's best-known marketing programs from 1989-1995. He has also held senior positions at Intel and GI. Jeff has a BA in Communications from Brown University and an MA in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin.
